THE CONCEPT

Created in September 2002 and produced in English, French and Portuguese by People TV, a TV press agency, INITIATIVE Africa is a 30 minutes informative magazine which is broadcast every two weeks by more than 40 channels and are followed by over 30 millions viewers all around the African continent, Europe and United States.

Every edition is composed by two or three reports and features a prominent guest who engages a dialogue with the hostess based on the reports.

At the end of the program, the viewers vote for their favourite report. As with BUSINESS Africa, the viewer whose vote is chosen in a random draw will receive 150 US Dollars. At the end of the year, the report that receives the most votes will be awarded a cash prize by Western Union to continue the work performed by their organization.

THE EDITORIAL LINE

INITIATIVE Africa is a magazine that highlights the initiatives of individuals or organizations (NGOs, government agencies, businesses, etc.) contributing to the development of the African continent in the domains of education, culture, the environment, and health. The reports display the activities of men, women, and children who, whether in large cities or small villages, help to construct Africa on a daily basis.

Small or big, these initiatives are always exemplary.
